The "all your base" phenomenon began around the turn of the century when a Japanese video game was rushed into production for the U.S. market, and had obviously poor translation. There are similar examples such as the Star Wars movie "The Revenge of the Sith" which was translated into Chinese, then English subtitles taken from the Chinese were added afterward. The title became "The Backstroke of the West". "Jedi Counsel" becomes the "Presbyterian Church" (you can Google to see how that occurred).
I like these examples as they show in a humorous way what can happen if technology is misapplied.

Leno regularly does a bit on items purchased at the 99 cents store (I guess the cost of living is even higher here since we only have $1.00 stores). The packaging labels on the Chinese products are truly hilarious. I suppose this has nothing to do with technology, but something to do with our global economy. We consider our products vastly superior, yet Walmart is building another store in my backyard.
